An Evening with Norman Mailer

 

Mr. Mailer will speak and read from his newly published anthology, The Time of Our Time, and other of his works.

He is the author of more than twenty books including The Naked and the Dead, Why Are We in Vietnam?, Tough Guys Don’t Dance, and The Gospel According to the Son, as well as countless articles, screenplays, and collections. Mr. Mailer is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Armies of the Night and the recipient of National Book Awards as well as numerous other awards and honors. He is also a noted producer and director, receiving an Emmy nomination for the script of his book, The Executioner’s Song.

Memorial Lecture

by Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky

The Ninth Poet Laureate of the United States, Professor Pinsky teaches in the graduate creative writing program at Boston University. He is the author of five books of poetry including The Figured Wheel: New and Collected Poems, 1966-1996, and a highly regarded translation of Dante’s Inferno. He is also the poetry editor of the weekly Internet magazine Slate. The Nation magazine has said that "among the many writers who have come of age in our fin de siecle, none have succeeded more completely as poet, critic, and translator than Robert Pinsky."
